Suunto t3d Heart Rate Monitor extremely glad to travel

For years, I struggled with a Polar heart rate monitor. i’d have to wet the strap, sometimes wait up to 20 minutes for it to “warm up” and detect a signal, and endure constant signal “drop outs” creating large gaps in my coaching data. Eventually, i’d had enough, and set to try this explicit Suunto t3d Heart Rate Monitor as a result of it was on sale at REI. i have been using it for three months currently and i’m extraordinarily satisfied.

First, the watch appearance really nice. it is very slim and does not scream “training computer,” so it’s undoubtedly suitable to wear at the office, whereas traveling, or just about anywhere without looking of place.

When you place the heart rate strap on, the signal is picked up immediately. i have not had to dampen the electrodes or sit up for it to heat up; you merely place the strap on, turn the watch to coaching mode and you are smart to travel. The signal is extraordinarily solid; you’ll be able to do just about any physical activity in this factor despite what proportion it contorts your torso and the watch will still obtain your heart rate no downside.

The interface is admittedly a little confusing, but with some follow you’ll get used to it. Recalling data is simple, there is multiple time zone support, stopwatch… just about each basic operate you’d expect. The calories burned operate is, as way as I will tell, terribly accurate after you subtract the calories you would have burned sitting still.

As way as cons go, there are very few. The battery life is good, although not pretty much as good as on my Polar (I had to interchange the t3ds battery after concerning 3 months of significant, near-daily use). Others have complained that the screen is difficult to scan, although personally I have no problems.

Over-all, if you’re looking to spend less than 200 greenbacks and acquire an especially reliable heart rate monitor, this can be your watch.
